What is the opportunity?
In this role the Operations Analyst II is responsible for monitoring and supporting all Royal Bank of Canada’s Global Networks, Distributed Systems and Console environment on a 24/7/365 days a year. You will be required to analyze business, technical and system needs, help with resolving business systems issues and recommend technical solutions which meets sponsor/stakeholder needs. You will execute and monitor key business applications activities, such as RIBS, T24 , Bankway, FCIS, etc. You will also review / execute on the daily and nightly processing of files and extracts in accordance with documented procedures and other approved instructions.
What will you do?
- Perform first level and Second level technical support and analysis on affected components to minimize business impact and promptly restore service within Operational Service Levels (OLA’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
- Maintain a high user satisfaction level by providing prompt resolution of problems/issues
- Support and adhere to Incident Management Framework which outlines the handling of all events to resolution
- Monitor/Triage all domestic and international Data Centers and Data Centre Technologies
- Deliver an effective and efficient performance of the core-banking and other related processes to ensure high-availability and on-time service.
- Execute and perform careful monitoring of automated COBs (applicable to specific region) such as RIBS, T24, Bankway and FCIS core banking activities (inclusive of end-of-day, start-of-day, archival and backup) so as to minimize negative impact to timely processing
- Monitor the automated processing and uploads (applicable to specific region), such as IPODs, daily electronic settlements, such as VISA and MasterCard, T24 exNA interfaces, ODS, Peoplesoft, Tellerphone, Bony, POSH, IST, ACH (clearing files).
- Check necessary logs and reports (applicable to specific region) to ensure extracts for PRIME, AML and Erase and utility extracts for clients are produced during the automated daily/nightly runs.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- University or College Degree in Computer Science or a related field or Equivalent years of experience
- ITIL v3: Foundations, Operational Support & Analysis
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate with people in a wide variety of areas and at various levels from technical specialists to senior managers.
- Ability to learn and absorb quickly new concepts (in tools and systems), apply new knowledge as appropriate and transfer knowledge to others
- Strong ability to manage expectations with team, management and clients, and deliver on them
- Demonstrated knowledge with data, voice and wireless network technologies including hardware technologies associated with each
