Manager, Physical Security BB

Purpose of the Role:
The Manager, Physical Security provides expert advice and guidance on the safety, security, and protection of the Bank’s personnel, assets, and operations and implements physical security measures, contributing directly to the Bank’s resilience against potential threats and vulnerabilities. The incumbent supports the Associate Director with the enhancement of the Bank’s security posture, through proactive measures and strategic planning; ensuring all physical security practices are adhered to and regulatory requirements and industry standards are met; identifying and mitigating potential risks to personnel, assets, and operations through effective security measures.  The incumbent also supports all aspects of emergency readiness by ensuring staff are prepared to respond to emergencies swiftly and effectively while minimizing disruptions.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) of various facilities, including existing / new offices, branches, supplier locations, using an all-risks approach, including ad-hoc TRAs as required to provide and implement forward looking physical security intelligence strategies for the Bank’s assets and personnel.
  • Performs reviews and approval of building design, equipment overlays and security equipment proposals, including, and identifying and prioritizing physical security gaps, submitting reports detailing appropriate recommendations for remediation     to ensure designs / proposals, etc., are fit for purpose, and any physical security gaps are addressed / mitigated, and remediation efforts are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides advice and support on projects and initiatives, including on-site support during site visits and analysis for new construction and remodels in conjunction with other stakeholders, (internal and external), identifying required physical security controls to ensure the condition of branches / locations fit for purpose and brand compliance (all signage) are to the Bank’s internal standards.
  • Collaborates with third party vendors on delivery of projects / activities, including the design and implementation of access control, CCTV and alarm systems; reviewing alternatives and creating project plans, providing status updates to stakeholders, providing incident support as required and escalating and resolving issues / requests for assistance in a timely manner to ensure projects are successfully delivered, in accordance with plans and to budget, whilst building of long-term, mutually successful, and cost-effective partnerships and ensuring optimal monitoring and incident response capabilities.
  • Collaborates with law enforcement and other stakeholders across the region to enhance security measures and response strategies.
  • Determines the nature and extent of incoming physical security equipment and other requests for Corporate Security, in collaboration with stakeholders, including Property Services, Sourcing, and other internal partners, to ensure industry standards are met and alignment to the Bank’s internal processes and procedures.
  • Contributes to Corporate Security programmes and projects, including assisting in the development of new reports, dashboards, processes, and testing of new systems to ensure that these matters are prioritised and that the necessary focus and funding is put in place to protect the Bank from any corporate security threats.
  • Supports the Bank in the event of disaster, providing crisis management expertise and assisting with the management and deployment of the Disaster Assistance Response Teams to support the Bank’s employees and country management committee(s) (CMC), safeguard staff, complete damage and needs assessments, secure the Bank’s assets, and complete business resumption activities.
Critical Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • 5-7 years of IT and business / industry work experience, including managing physical security
  • Excellent knowledge of security management principles, practices, and procedures in a large, multi-business environment, and a solid understanding of security policies and standards.
  • Extensive experience in conducting comprehensive physical security risk assessments, including site surveys, and vulnerability analysis specific to financial institutions, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage comprehensive physical security programmes that align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing access control, CCTV and alarm systems, ensuring optimal monitoring and incident response capabilities.
  • Experience working closely with law enforcement and other stakeholders to enhance security measures and response strategies.
  • In depth understanding of the financial sector, including regulatory requirements, and specific risks associated with physical security in banking and finance.
Experience Required:
  • A first degree or demonstrated 5 years equivalent experience is required.
  • Professional designation in the field of security.
