Manager, International Corporate Banking BB

Purpose of Role:

The Manager, International Corporate Banking provides relationship management to a portfolio of ICB clients and manages and grows the portfolio of key business introducers (KBIs) and large corporate transactional business clients and has responsibility for prospecting new clients and identifying opportunities to build new relationships in key areas and industries of focus to ICB. The Manager is a focal point within the ICB team for client contact around sales and further need opportunities, especially in making transactional day-to-day banking easier for the client.
The Manager, International Corporate Banking (FC7) manages client portfolios of approximately 200-550 moderate-high value / complexity clients (with the portfolio size to be determined accordingly) which is smaller in scale and complexity than that of a Senior Manager, International Corporate Banking (FC8).


Key Accountabilities:

  • Sources, originates & grows new ICB clients and fosters business opportunities with existing clients to achieve annual growth targets, specifically in non-interest income.
  • Monitors, reviews & grows the assigned client portfolio of key business introducers (KBIs) and large corporate transactional business clients, building and broadening the scope of the client relationship to contribute to increased revenue generation and the maintenance of non-interest income business through relationship management.
  • Promotes & sells customised transaction products & services to create opportunities to increase ‘wallet share’ through cross-selling opportunities of the Bank’s products and services and to contribute to revenue growth.
  • Prepares & submits credit applications to CRMD for sanctioning on letter of credit applications and borrowing proposals / applications  to ensure credit applications are completed accurately and completely to enable first time review / approval in a timely manner and ensure proposals address the risk issues involved and how they may be mitigated while keeping in mind the nature of the client base.
  • Resolves client escalations and ensures that clients are successfully transitioned to the CBSC for account opening and account servicing to support internal partners in maintaining positive customer relationship.
  • Reduces the business’s cost to income ratio via effectively managing low value business, in conjunction with the Head / Associate Director to ensure profit optimization by reviewing client status and / or directing clients to seek alternative channels or encouraging client to increase business volumes.
  • Attends luncheons, business meetings, and other industry functions / conferences and assists with planning and coordinating marketing approaches for new and existing business relationships to strengthen existing and potential business relationships and gain industry knowledge. 
  • Reviews & approves new business applications checking for AML / KYC / OPM / FATCA compliance, rationale, purpose, and ongoing source of funds is held on file to ensure new business is fully compliant and in line with regulatory and internal AML / ATF / KYC standards.

 

Critical Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • 5 years’ experience in the business / financial world.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of relationship management and / or consultative selling.
  • Exposure to / experience in general banking and risk management.
  • Understanding of the industry trends and macro-economic factors affecting customers and markets.
  • Proven origination, business development, consultative selling, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Proficient understanding of the International Corporate business and the Bank’s transaction products and services.
  • Relationship builder with ability to influence and negotiate to win-win solutions.
  • Previous roles may encompass both onshore and International Banking Corporate Manager roles.
  • Credit / lending experience would be an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of KYC, client acceptance and AML / ATF rules and requirements specific to ICB as well as modern risk and control management in banking.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of managing complex multi-layered corporate structures, covering different types of corporate entities and the key industries serviced by International Corporate Banking.
  • Proficient knowledge and awareness of the product and service offerings of other business segments to identify potential cross-sell opportunities.

 

Experience Required:

  • University graduate with specialization in business, finance and/or management
