Inventory Clerk TT

National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (National Energy) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), with a mandate to conceptualize, promote, facilitate and develop sustainable energy-based industries locally and internationally.

 

This position reports to the Head, Supply Chain Management and is responsible for the management and maintenance of accurate records of all stock and non-stock items within National Energy’s inventory system. This position is also responsible for ensuring proper storage and visibility of valuable assets.

 

Key Functions:

 

  • Reviews and reconciles physical stock levels with inventory records to ensure accuracy and completeness of the inventory system.

  • Manages the transfer of inventory from various locations and ensures proper documentation and record-keeping.

  • Updates and maintains the inventory system to reflect stock movements and changes, ensuring that data is current and accurate.

  • Performs regular physical inventory checks and reconciles discrepancies.

  • Monitors stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts, ensuring that all stock items are managed and stored appropriately in accordance with the company’s inventory framework.

  • Identifies areas for improvement in the storage and management of items at various Company locations and ensures that items are within the scope of the inventory system.

  • Ensures all inventory items are properly labeled and stored.

  • Creates Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for new and existing inventory items.

  • Plans and schedules receiving activities in a timely manner.

  • Receives and Tags purchased stock and non-stock items.

  • Identifies and addresses potential risks in the inventory process, such as loss or mismanagement of items.

  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

  • Ensures proper placement of received items in designated bin locations and updates bin cards to accurately reflect receipts.

  • Works closely with user departments to ensure that inventory needs are met.

  • Ensures that user departments have full visibility of real-time inventory status and routinely updates the inventory database to avoid duplicate orders.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • A Diploma in Business Management, Logistics; or equivalent qualification in a related discipline;

           AND

  • Certification in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (C.I.P.S.): Level 2 Certificate in Procurement and Supply and/or supply management training from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related position.

 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:

 

  • Knowledge of Inventory Management Software.

  • Knowledge of Vessel Spares and Equipment.

  • Ability to apply laws and regulations for compliance.

  • Ability to develop ways to continuously improve external and internal customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to observe and maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.

  • Effective problem-solving, time management, planning and organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal).

  • Proficient in Office 365 applications.
