THE DEPARTMENT

 

The Human Resources and Administration Department is responsible for providing leadership in formulating and implementing the Bank’s strategies for people, facilities, general office support services, corporate procurement, business continuity, health and safety, and security. The Department leads the effort to transform the Bank into a high-performing organisation, promoting human resources policies that optimise talent and position the Bank as an employer of choice.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

The Intern will support the ongoing digitalisation and organisation of our Human Resources records. The intern will play a key role in helping to improve the structure and accessibility of digital files through proper naming conventions, cataloguing, and file storage practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Review, organise, and catalogue existing online HR files to ensure consistency and ease of access.
  • Apply standardised naming conventions and file structures across online documents.
  • Work closely with HR team members to ensure proper classification and tagging of documents.
  • Support planning and coordination of employee wellbeing activities and initiatives.
  • Assist with logistical and administrative aspects of training and development events (e.g., scheduling, materials preparation, tracking attendance).
  • Provide support to the recruitment process, including reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing onboarding materials.

 

 

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

 

The Intern will report directly to the Employee Experience Specialist.

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or graduated in the last 12 months.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with SharePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Respect for confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.

LOCATION, DURATION AND TIMING

This assignment will be carried out at CDB’s Headquarters in Barbados over a 3-month period, commencing in July 2025 and ending in September 2025.
