As Executive Advisor, you fall within the Governor's Office/Cabinet which provides the first line of support and services to the Island Governor. The Cabinet assists the Governor in carrying out the duties of the office related to policy, representation, leadership, and general support. This enables the Governor to properly fulfil the role as a representative of the Public Entity. In this way, the Executive Council supports the implementation of the Governor's higher supervisory powers. It also makes an important contribution to the maintenance of public order and safety on the island.
Job description
The Island Governor of St. Eustatius plays an essential role in maintaining public order and safety on the island. As Executive Advisor in the Governor’s Cabinet, you help the Governor carry out these responsibilities as efficiently as possible. Your well-informed advice and clear plans make a significant contribution to this process. The role involves working with many internal and external stakeholders. This offers you the opportunity to greatly expand your professional network.

Terms of employment
The position is temporary for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent employment. We offer a salary between starting scale 9 or 10 and functional scale 11 with a minimum of $3,097.13 and a maximum of $5,356.37 gross monthly, based on a 36-hour work week.
The amounts above are according to the salary table of the Statia Government dated 12 March 2024. Salary scaling is based on qualifications and experience. In addition, this employee will receive a holiday allowance of 8.33% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual income. The successful candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo medical evaluation. An assessment and reference check may be part of the selection process.
