Electrical Engineer CW

The position
As the Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for providing input for the (annual) planning, programming, design, budget and production of electrical projects of CAP. You define and prepare the technical scope of work, budget and cost calculations related to all electrical works. You instruct, monitor and ensure, in close collaboration with the Electro Mechanic Coordinator, that the technical execution of all electrical activities and projects by contractors are carried out in conformity with technical standards, specified working procedures, cost effectiveness, and scope of work to achieve high-quality work. You check, test and adjust electrical drawings of consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, and perform failure analysis independently or in multifunctional groups on complex electrical systems, and provide suggestions on technical improvements. You also perform economical justified maintenance support to revisions, and monitor and guide colleagues within the department to ensure safety and quality of work. You initiate and lead the RFQ/RFP process of electrical works in close coordination with project coordinators and the RFP committee, and perform the electrical technical evaluation of proposed offers. Finally, you are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date digital electrical drawings library.

 

Your profile

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent, and you have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • You have theoretical and practical knowledge of industrial electrical principles, and have knowledge of electrical operating procedures and electrical standard practices.
  • You have knowledge of electrical testing and inspection, electrical control and automation systems.
  • You have a critical attitude towards standard procedures and data, and have knowledge of innovative developments and applications in the field.
  • You have analytical skills, and are skilled in project management.
  • You are a problem solver, innovative and a quick learner.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, in English, Dutch and Papiamentu. Spanish is preferrable.
